    1) Bhutto (2010)
Quote:A riveting documentary of the recently assassinated Benazir Bhutto, a polarizing figure in the Muslim world. Following in her father's footsteps as a pillar for democracy, Bhutto was expected to dominate Pakistan's 2008 elections but the assassination sent Pakistan politics into turmoil. This major event sent shock waves throughout the world and transformed her from political messiah into a martyr for the common man.

    2) BBC Storyville: Soldier Women - To see if I am smiling

Quote:Israel is the only country in the world where 18-year-old girls are drafted for compulsory military service. In To See If I'm Smiling, a few of them describe their experiences during their two years in the army. All of these young women were stationed in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, places where the conflict is intense. Although they were not directly involved in armed operations, they were in positions that provided a unique perspective on the tense relationship between Israel and the Palestinian population. For the first time, they speak openly about their experiences, in interviews that are complemented with both archive footage and personal material. Their two years of service left an indelible impression on each of them. They explain what it was like to hold their own as the only female soldier among men, but they also talk about their moral dilemmas and doubts regarding the way the Palestinians are treated at the checkpoints. Ultimately, they touch on the inevitable numbness that people end up feeling, and the fading boundary between what they could once so clearly distinguish as good or evil.

I've been watching NBC's The Blacklist. I like it but then again, I have a weakness for James Spader.

Some of it is a little too hokey but for the most part it has held my attention.
    The Missing (2014 - )

Since there is no sound in my computer, I've been watching TV with my Son...He's been watching Catfish...I've been trying to get into it... it' seems pretty good:

    Check it out for yourself.

    Here is the wiki:

    I enjoy it..Makes you think...
A sitcom I've been watching on and off is Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, starring Rachel Bloom.

    Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (TV Series 2015– )...
Created by Rachel Bloom, Aline Brosh McKenna. With Rachel Bloom, Donna...

The genre is Comedy/Musical, which is a rather unique combination.

The show is highly entertaining and the cast and acting is super good.

I've gotten tired of most American Comedy sitcoms. This one is refreshing.
There's no distracting background laughter track either.
No FBI, no vampires or zombies.
The catchy songs and non-stereotype situations and acting that makes this very watchable.

Have a look at some of Rachel's videos on youtube and am sure you'll be hooked. ;-)

    Good one, @radiobox

I had never actually watched Seinfeld in any sense of completeness until a month or so ago-- to be clear, I had seen full episodes but in random increments. I always liked the show, but when I made it to about season 4-5, I really began to see what people love about it. Seinfeld is probably THE most meta show ever. Larry David and Jerry have done a spectacular job finding a way to make characters that are FREQUENTLY horrible people and a leading man who is ALWAYS a horrible actor-- and somehow make you get emotionally invested in them.

Kramer. He is the mother fucking man.

Another thing is that they didn't wait for it to start lagging in the ratings to pull the plug. When Season 9 aired, Seinfeld was the highest rated television program in all markets. Does it ever "jump the shark"? I don't know. I'll tell you when I finish Big Grin
Whose Line Is It Anyway ? (2013 -) (The new version)

The first series with Drew Carrey ended with Season 8.

Currently watching Season 5, which I guess is Season 13.

    I'd recommend these shows

'The Young Pope' starring Jude Law
The Young Pope (TV Series 2016) - IMDb
Created by Paolo Sorrentino. With Jude Law, Diane Keaton, Silvio...

Believe me you'll be looking for news on Season 2.

'11.22.63' starring James Franco. This is actually a TV Mini-Series.
    11.22.63 (TV Mini-Series 2016) - IMDb
Created by Bridget Carpenter. With James Franco, Sarah Gadon, George...

Slick direction and acting. A different take on the JFK assassination.

    'Younger' (currently in Season 4)
    Younger (TV Series 2015– ) - IMDb
Created by Darren Star. With Sutton Foster, Miriam Shor, Hilary Duff,...

Probably a girly tv show. But the story, script and direction make it an interesting watch.
There are some really fine actors in this show.

This is old news for most people, but I finally took the time to watch Sons of Anarchy. Often when I begin a new show, my enthusiasm will wane in the first few episodes, but with SoA, I was instantly involved in nearly every character in the show. It really captivated me from beginning to end.

Speaking of the end, no spoilers, but while a lot of people seemed bitchy about it, I was totally cool with it and felt like it rapped up nicely.

SoA sneaked into my top ten. Overall I'd give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
