  • Movies Seeking help finding good documentary films
I guess I better define what I mean by "good" documentary films.

My biggest interest are docs about WW2. I also like docs about government wrong doing.

I have used Google searching for some obvious things like:

    "documentary films war"
    "documentary films government corruption"

But would anyone here know of any good sources for documentary films that I may have overlooked?

I would certainly appreciate any help or advice that any of you might like to offer me.
    Check out this list:

    And this one:
    10 Best WW2 Documentary Films

    Thanks very much Velvet.

I will certainly go through those.
I would recommend 'The World at War' series. #1 on the first list and #3 on the second list that Vf posted. I have seen all of them and they are excellent.

    that those with no rights,
display the right to have no life, to have respect they must accept

"The World at War" is a truly excellent series.
But it is a big hunk to download if you wish to grab it over the net.
It consists of 26 one hour episodes, plus eight more shorter bonus episodes.
I downloaded the whole thing , and it amounts to 22.8 GB.

Yes. TWAW is just about the best series there is.

I have had it for several years now and I really enjoy it. I watch it over and over again.

Thank you both very much for your reccos.

Speaking of "reccos", have you ever seen "Boiler Room"? I know this is going to be off topic but I couldn't resist making my own reccomendation once I saw the term "recco". It's not a doc and it's not about war. But it is a thoroughly enjoyable film and Giovanni Ribisi gave an excellent performance in the lead role. This is one of my favorite films. Too bad the action kind of sags in the middle of the movie. Otherwise it would def be in my fave Top 10 films.

    Boiler Room (2000)
Directed by Ben Younger. With Giovanni Ribisi, Vin Diesel, Nia Long, Nicky Katt. A college dropout, attempting to live up to his father's high standards, gets a job as a broker for a suburban investment firm which puts him on the fast track to success. But the job might not be as legitimate as it first appeared to be.
