  • Tech Discussion Microsoft Android patent licenses generate $2 billion a year
Microsoft is making $10 to $13 in patent royalty payments on each Android phone or tablet sold by its competitors.
Currently, Android has around an 82% smart phone market share, while Apple has 14% and Microsoft has 4%.
The $2 billion that Microsoft received in Android royalties in 2013 just about covered the staggering losses in their X-Box division.
