also ... the "Classic Pin Up Poster" box which is now "The Movie Mockery" box, how does that work?
How does one get to create a theme for there?

I'm sure I'm not in the right place, but I didn't know where else to go????

Are the pics that we submit in replies put into the "feature box"?
Or
Does the admin put it together him/herself?
Are we allowed to make a suggestion for the feature box?
If so, do we need to have a collection of pics available for the feature box?

By the way, I like and enjoy the Feature Box ... especially the Movie Spoofs ... wasn't really into the girly pics

By creating cool threads

When Google picks up an image thread as top 20 for us, I contact the OP of the thread and ask if I can showcase their thread. If the author is cool with it, I start a script to compile thumbnails for that thread and then add those thumbnails to the slideshow you see displayed in the side box.

Nope. The suggestion would be to use an existing thread-- even one you started.

Threads that won't get featured include image threads in The Pit or that don't have a theme-- I don't want to put things on the main page that seem random and haphazard, ya know?

If a thread is cool and themed then I will probably get around to featuring it eventually but don't be shy to suggest a thread I haven't done yet.

So far we've have @n0b0dyh0me's art thread, @velvetfog's classic pinup thread and @Spudgun17's Spoof movie posters thread (top 10 on Google for 6 weeks now )

By the way, I like and enjoy the Feature Box ... especially the Movie Spoofs ... wasn't really into the girly pics

Thanks Wildcard ... I totally get it now.
So I have a theme I'd like to start but there is not really a section to begin it in

VF used the "Art Section" for his classic pinup thread ... makes sense
Sudgun17 used the "Movie Section" for his movie posters ... also makes sense

My idea would be called "The Land of Awww" which would be pics of animals that make you say awe when seeing them (hopefully ) ... but what section would be suitable for it

Art would be fine. I know it is about animals, but really it is just about 'cute' but themed . . . we kinda already have some similar threads, but again, most of those are in The Pit.

No trying to bore you to death but I have to warn you if you create a thread that is vague (like 'post cute animal pics here') it will be trampled on by these maniacs and wind up in The Pit (and that is the staff, wait till the members get ahold of it )
