    The Wrath of Vajra (2013)

    Action / Fantasy.

Made in China. Highly recommended for the action scenes (just my opinion).

I tuned in mid way into the movie, so no idea what they were fighting about.
It reminds you of Ip Man, The Matrix and other movies, but all in all, very good cinematography.
Have a look at the trailer on imdb. The female actor unfortunately doesn't seem to have done any more movies. ;-(

Marcus Luttrell and his team set out on a mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shah, in late June 2005. Marcus and his team are left to fight for their lives in one of the most valiant efforts of modern warfare.

    A Time to Kill (1996)

Matthew McConaughey, Samuel L. Jackson, Sandra Bullock, Kevin Spacey, Donald and Keifer Sutherland, Ashley Judd...how did it take me so long to see this movie?

I have been in a real start-a-movie-and-pass-out phase lately, but this movie kept me interested throughout and wide awake and thinking as the credits rolled. There was something so earnest about Samuel L. Jackson's portrayal of Carl Lee, a man on trial for the revenge-murder of two men who raped and beat his ten-year-old daughter. I kept me putting myself in his shoes, which is exactly what a good drama should make the viewer do.

Ashley Judd is one of my favorite actresses, but the real magic happens when Bullock and McConaughey are onscreen together. Their chemistry is electric and kept me interested in the development of their interactions. Without spoiling, I will say that the writers of this movie have woven a thread of purity into every move the lead ensemble make. It enhances the natural instinct to support the lead players if he/she are worthy.

In the end, the viewer feels relieved, provoked, and saddened all at once.

It wasn't all perfect, of course. Some of McConaughey's scenes felt a little forced, especially the finale courtroom tear-jerker. The entire plot has been done again and again, so the story has to do all of the work. It can be hokey at times and this movie is certainly very predictable, but for me it works well for a first time viewing and will be a candidate for reviewing.
