    I think it's called a Chat Box? Similar to what MDL use for real time communication:

    We already have a live chat.
    It is #rantcentral on the IRC network.
    At the moment, there are 42 users connected to it.

    @velvetfog is correct, we have an IRC channel and that is enough for this forum. . . we will not be installing a shoutbox/chat system for RC.
