This forum uses AutoMedia plugin to display videos in threads with no BB code. This means no more [video] tags!

Just paste the URL into a post and it will appear as an embedded media file. It works for YouTube, MySpace and a very large assortment of other formats(FLV, SWF, etc.) are supported.

If you've ever tried putting a magnet link in URL tags you know that it doesn't work very well. In fact it usually doesn't work at all. I created a tag for magnet links as we do a lot of sharing here and I thought it might be a good thing. Special thanks to stormium (for the idea) and zeberzee for helping me test.

    It works like this:

    Code:
    [magnet]link[/magnet]

    or

    [magnet=title]link[/magnet]

This is an example with a title:

    [magnet=The Rocky Horror Picture Show [1975] 720p BRRip x264 [Zeberzee]]magnet:?xt=urn:btih:bb62b77578e2597adc944e724069673203a45633&dn=The+Rocky+Horror+Picture+Show+%5B1975%5D+720p+BRRip+x264+%5BZeberzee%5D+&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.publicbt.com%3A80&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.istole.it%3A6969&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.ccc.de%3A80[/magnet]

    and one without a title:

    Have fun Smile

Staying on topic is important and we all (including me) get off topic from time to time. When people come to a forum for the first time a link to a thread that's title doesn't match anything that is going on, sometimes they go back and catch up but they are more likely to be confused and then bounce.

I don't want to be that guy bitching all the time, to get more people here and keep the forum going I have to do what I have to do. And what I have to do is make a decision about each thread that has gone off topic.

    • Did the thread get derailed before it ever had a chance?
    • Did it ever have a chance to begin with?
    • Has the OP contributed to the off topic posting?
    • Is the thread worth saving

If none of those are true then thread gets thrown in The Pit.

But if I see that an OP (take stormium, for example) has protected their thread by making it clear and easy to understand what is expected of posters (take the cake thread for instance) then I will help police that thread and simply remove off topic posts.

Sometimes we want threads to get thrown into The Pit, but remember it isn't the topic of the thread that gets it filed, its the validity of the discussion. You can talk about anything you like as long as it is within reason anywhere on the forum.

Just some things to think about. Thanks to you all for signing up and making a redneck happy. Smile

We have many great posters here. I used stormium and his thread as an example because it contains very specific instructions and would serve well as a model for protecting your threads from The Pit

You probably won't notice anything different, but if you look the URLs for threads are now formatted to be easier to read for search engine bots. In this way we can get more organic traffic- that is traffic from Google searches Smile

If you notice any dead links or other problems, please post about it in Site Issues.

    Happy ranting.

I am always trying to make the site better. One thing I think we need to work on is our exposure to search engines. In the next twenty-four hours you may experience a little bit of down time with the site. This is nothing to worry about we are simply configuring the site and trying to make it perform better.

The site could be down for a couple of hours at most.

Sorry for any inconvenience and happy ranting.

I knew I would eventually have to limit the signature size so I've chosen to allow 150px of height. I think that is plenty. Lets also try to keep the width under 1,000px although it is not currently limited.

    Sorry to be the asshole.

I finally got through with the new theme for the forum. I hope everyone likes it because it took quite a while. This theme should be more compatible for a full range of browsers and I've taken care to keep the code as simple as possible.

It is now the default theme and you may have noticed your profile settings have changed to the new look. If you want to swap back you can always use one of the other themes.

    Enjoy!

P.S. Kaiser is now going under the knife. I'm gonna start back over as I have learned a lot of things that would make it better and load more quickly. This means it might disappear in a few days . . .

The k6 tags are unnecessary so I will be removing them shortly. I will edit any posts that use them.

All you have to do is use the Direct Hotlink (NOT the Share Link) option in kiwi6 (or for any other site, just make sure the URL ends in .mp3)

For kiwi6, here is the location of the correct link to copy (it is selected)

    The use the mp3 tags:

    Code:
    [mp3]http://k004.kiwi6.com/hotlink/a7p6z0f80t/1_01_farmer_in_the_city_remembering_pasolini.mp3[/mp3]

    Which will produce this:

    Download

Note: Since the players don't have a title every time lets try to label the music we post Wink

Local avatar galleries are stored on the site now to provide avatars for those without upload capabilities or just for those who like them. Some of them are gay as Hell: [Image: free.png] but others are cool: [Image: tank.gif]

Enjoy. In User CP click Change Avatar
