As most of you know, since August of 2012, @HTorr3ntz has been hosting this forum and doing a wonderful job of it.

In the almost three years that he hosted Rant Central, he upgraded and improved his servers multiple times to meet the demands put on it by our site, PirateLyfe and more.

We have moved the site to a new host as of today and I am sure it will be adequate for our small forum, but we will not forget our friend and all of the kindness he has shown this site.

    Thank You My Friend.

You have always been a friend to RC and I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart. Hug

Rant Central is changing host server and there's a good chance the forum may be down for a day or two at the maximum.

It's nothing to worry about - we are simply switching host - but there's an overlap of a day when the site could be unavailable while the changes are made.

Expected downtime will likely occur on Wednesday 28th/Thursday 29th January. If you find the site offline when you try to visit, rest assured we'll be back, so please try the forum again a short while after.

While the site is offline, feel free to contact members of staff if you have any questions, on any of the IRC chans that we frequent. Smile

Sorry Rantcentral for the downtime the past 6 hours.
i've no idea what caused it, but all i know is the server didnt auto reboot after the crash which is does normally, so i had to contact my datacenter guy the manually reboot it, offcourse that fag was sleeping, so it took a while, all should be good now though.

sorry for the downtime, and thanks for being patient.

For the next few hours you may notice some weird things especially with the side boxes.

I am releasing ASB 2.0 today (we are using 1.7.3) and, as is my habit, I like to get it installed on RC and check things out on a live forum before I release it to the general public.

@sporkium and anyone else who disables side boxes in UCP: You will need to disable them again after I complete the upgrade as this is going to require a full reinstall.

I know you probably don't care, I am just telling you so we can hopefully avoid any support threads (@snilloc :p) related to things looking different or changing.

After I am done (an hour or two, tops) if you notice anything still fucked up, feel free to make a thread in Site Issues.

Cheers (yes, spork, I said 'Cheers' deal with it),

    Dear Rantcentral.

Due to a Server Change, and getting SSL Active somewhere today. The site might go down for a little bit.
it depends on how fast your providers DNS service changes.

so within now and 48 hours, SSL should be active, which means you can browse the site is https mode.
    and use secured connections.

Hope to have you all informed.

so: if the site is down when you visit it, you know its because of movements.

    Kind Regards,
    HTorr3ntz (Rantcentralforums.com Host)

    Dear Rantcentral Peeps.

Sorry For the 30 Minutes Downtime which occured during a Server Maintenance.
i was preparing the server for a move which is happening soon.

The Serverbox is getting moved soon to a different country due to america being retarded.
i had to prepare some services so they are taking over rantcentral when the move occurs, in the sense of not being down during the serverbox move to a different country, cause the move itself will take 2 days atleast.

Everything should be working fine again Big Grin

We've added auto reload to the latest threads sidebox so that every thirty seconds (if there any new posts/threads) the list will be updated. This is to keep you guys from having to refresh your browser every time you catch up with the new posts to see if there are more.
