RE: shit dentist
^^ Well I've met him for a prelim examination 2 weeks back. Problem identified and am cleared for 'extraction' and all that. But he's always off on 'emergency cases'. He only visits (t)his clinic a short duration during the day. His unpredictability bothers me a bit. I was hoping he'd be IN today (Monday) like he was last two weeks; instead he's off elsewhere or proly having a hangover :-p
I've been given pain killers meanwhile.
PS: To be fair, his main clinic is elsewhere (far away). Hence I guess the cancellations. Anyway am comfortable with him and that matters. The surgical tools in the clinic reminds me of 'The Hostel' movies !

Extra: Good book this. Well presented. (Anatomy for Dental Students)

RE: shit dentist
Thank you. I guess my fear factor is mostly from watching movies and hearing rumours about dentists.
At any rate, dentists here aren't as expensive as that of OP.
I guess their income is lesser than other specialists. Hence the higher fee.
I'll remember to write about my experience if only to allay fear about dentists.
(Aside: Hostel movie is good horror flick.)

RE: shit dentist
I found the information in the following page very useful.
http://worldental.org/oral-hygiene/tooth...tion-care/

Thanks to the local anesthesia (la), the injection does not cause much pain.
It helps to turn one's mind away during that time.

Take care of your teeth. Do visit a dentist for a check up if you think something does not feel right. :-)

RE: shit dentist
No. Just a simple hand operated model :-)
Traditionally people use neem sticks as tooth brushes.
Not only cleans the teeth, but the juice from it combats germs.

RE: shit dentist
My dentist says that an electric toothbrush is essential for good dental care. I haven't got one yet but he's says let the machine do the work. He's pretty adamant about that. He says he does it, and he's got electronic brushes for his kids..That was pretty much the sale for me...I just gotta get one.

Your dentist is right for the sake of your teeth everyone should get one if they can. Dont be fooled by all the prices and adds you can get a perfectly good one for under £3.00/$5.00. Not the best but it will give you the chance to experience the cleanest teeth you have ever had. Don't go for the big brand names they simply aren't worth it.

RE: shit dentist
Again, he swears by his electric toothbrush. He said as a parent, his kids would get the benefit of it too.
