    the following websites are free public resources that provide access to historical media such as photographs, speeches, movies, music, books, etc.

    i plan for this thread to be updated regularly as a 'first post contains all' type of thread with all sites submitted through posts being added to the first post so nothing gets lost.

    feel free to submit sites and discuss... (no pirating please) Big Grin

    I don't know if this counts as the kind of resource you're after, but it's a site I love to visit -- it's a contemporary cultural theory journal with enormous archives housing some of the most fascinating insights into media, technology and cultural change of the past two centuries.
