    latest threads column
    #1
i suggest that the latest threads column should be renamed to recent posts
since what it displays are not necessarily the latest threads
(some of them have in fact been around for quite a while)
but rather the threads in which the most recent posts have been made.

I'm not so sure. You can gain a lot more information from a Latest Threads sidebox than a Recent Posts one. My test site and RC both use the same myBB version, so this will give you an idea what it would like on here...

^^ As you can see, no dates are visible, and very little information is given.

^^ With the Latest Threads sidebox, you can view the date, number of replies & views to a thread, and can click on the 'last post' to go directly to the latest unread post - something you can't do with a Recent Posts column. I've even had both the Latest Threads and Recent Posts sideboxes displayed together on my test site, and when you compare the two, the former is much more user friendly.

i don't believe that bob is suggesting an actual change to the mechanics... just the name.

"Yeah. I understand the mechanics of it, shithead. I just don't understand how this is any less retarded than what I'm suggesting." - Kiley; Housebound.

Latest Threads and Recent Posts are separate sideboxes though, and as far as I'm aware, you cannot rename Add-on Modules - they're pre-named when you download the plug-in. Even under manage modules, you can delete each module but there are no other options.

Sorry I like Latest Threads it tell's you what's going on and what threads are being commented on at RC.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
