RE: Syria
It isn't just the Americans who claim that chemical weapons have been used in Syria.
The Israelis claim so too.
But there are disturbing signs that the chemical weapons may have been used by the rebel side,
by the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in order to try to make the Syrian government look bad.

RE: Syria
Yikes! I posted a new thread that is loosely related to Syria in the "News" forum.

I never saw this thread when I did that and if you check the timestamps, you will see that I posted my thread very shortly after you posted yours.

My thread only refers to Syria in a tangential way. It's really about some reporter's story in The Christian Science Monitor.

Anyway, I'm sorry if you feel I am stepping on your toes. I certainly didn't intend to do that.

Quote:Lebanon’s trash crisis has taken on a whole new dimension with one family opting to move to war-torn Syria – ironically – for fear of their safety and wellbeing.

Fayyad Ayyash, and his wife Riham who hails from Syria’s southern Sweida province, believe that their four young daughters, whose ages range from just under two to 10 years, will be better off in Libeen’s open plains.

“We’re going next week. In Syria, there’s a possibility I might die. Here, we’ll definitely die,”
War-torn Syria a safer option for Lebanese family seeking to escape trash

Quote:A literal pile of trash is snaking its way through parts of Beirut, Lebanon's capital city, stretching for hundreds of metres and posing a threat to both human health and the environment.
A river of trash is flowing through Beirut
