Someone recently tried to get me to read THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins. Against my better judgement, I gave it a shot. I didn't make it past page 6. Horrible style.

Uncle Tom's Cabin for me. Back in my high school years, I had to read this and write an essay comparing this to Nineteen Eighty-Four. Boy was it boring. Nineteen Eighty-Four was great, but for UTC, I skipped 200 pages so I can go the end.
It's not that I didn't like the theme, it's just that it was... boring.

Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. Had to read that for summer reading my freshman year, and our whole class just wanted to set it on fire.

haha I don't blame you, Ms. Kate. Could characters be any more unsubtle than they are in Dickens?

I watched 5 seasons of Dexter before I decided to read Jeff Lindsay's books: the source of the show. I tried to remember that they were the original text, but I kept comparing the books to the TV show and ended up giving up in book 2 (there are four).
Wildcard is awesome.
