Good Leads to Good Movies
#1
I have found a few ways to learn of good movies but I must admit that all the ways I have found are no longer paying off.

First off, let me just ask any moderator here ... if you would like to merge this thread in with an existing thread like maybe "Movies I've Watched Recently", I sure wouldn't mind that.

I used to go to IMDB and people there publish lists of movies that are either in their favorites or that they have recently watched.

At first, I thought that was a real fine way to learn of good movies. But pretty soon it got real tiresome because so many of the movies were duplicated on multiple lists.

Also, as you can imagine, some people would present movies they figured were one of the best of 2011. However, they weren't really very good.

So, I want to ask you. Do you know of any other ways to find movies that may be really good?

I've also tried browsing through some of the Download sites because they often show the titles that people have been searching for most often or that they have downloaded most often. But once again, I found much-o (pronounced "Mooch-Oh") problems with using that technique.

Anyway .... Bottom Line ... If you have any ideas or any techniques that you enjoy using to find quality films or TV programs, then please ... won't you help me out and tell me how you do it?

I would appreciate that very much and I'm sure that Squawky would too.

"Squawky" is the name of my parrot that I no longer have. But, I am going to pretend that I still have her because I'm just a crazy kind of fellow and I don't tink it will hurt nobody no way no how.

So, if'ns you don't object, I will jest pretend that Squawky is still here with me. And you know what? Even if you do object, I won't care too much and I will still pretend anyway. I jest may not tell you about her. I jest may keep my pretending to myself. That is usually what I do with my pretending anyways. OK. Dass all! Dass it! But, I just know that you would really love the real Squawky if you ever met her. Just like I did.

What was that?

Oh. Squawky just asked me to say hello to all of you for her.

Lemme ask you something. Do any of you know any other message boards where they have pretend parrots? I've never seen one at any other board. I would say that Squawky is totally unique. Totally bitching and totally unique! Oh Yeah!

I know these kinds of tips have been posted fairly often in the past, but if you Google

"25 best movies netflix" or just "best movies netflix"

you get a whole bunch of lists of good movies.

I'm posting this because I was very pleased with many of the movies I found on their lists. Many of them I had seen before but forgot all about them and they were really excellent.

So, I hope you might enjoy trying this. Here are a few of the films I found on these lists and decided to get:

Bones, Bones Brigade, Goon (2011), Gosford Park (2001), Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986), Highlander (1986), I Saw The Devil (2010),
Killer Joe (2011), Knuckle (2011), Once Upon A Time In Mexico (2003), Super Troopers (2001), The Apostle (1997), The Freebie (2010),
Tucker & Dale vs Evil (2010),

The film "Bones" is a documentary about skateboarding. I was confused because I found another film with almost the same title also about skateboarding. I think it is called "Bones Brigade". I watched enough of those two films to be certain they are different. But I don't understand.

OMG! I just watched the first 20 minutes of Super Troopers and it was just fucking awful. I think it was targeted to 8 year-olds. Oh shit. The person who wrote the review for that movie must have been drunk or stoned or mentally impaired in some way.

I skimmed thru the rest of the movie and it appeared to suck just as badly as the part I watched. Yuck!! Yuck!!

All right! Thank you Velvet.

Now, how can I find the most velvet-like movies of all time? Or should I say the "smoothest" movies of all time?
