Gif advice
#1
I have a quick question...

Ya ya, @Wildcard and specifically @bob5695 were making fun of my avatar for being too dark, and making fun of ME for calling myself the "Gif Master"

The more I think of it and look at my GIF, I have to agree with these 2 blokes...It is kinda dark.

What I DON'T get is I took it straig from the video I have of Superman III which is why I didn't think the brightness needed to be messed around with...But it IS pretty dark.

Can either of you (or anyone) tell me how to lighten it up a bit, or better yet, just do it for me (but still tell me so I know for my own sake)? I'll be in your debt...

Gracias

rule #1 - don't make a new gif from an overcompressed gif. it'll look like shit.
start from scratch with a good source.

if you're using PS, simply add a layer of brightness,
and drag it to the very top of the column where all frames are displayed
(so that the brightness filter is applied to all of them)
and from there do everything as you normally would.

needles to say, you are talking over my head. See, I joke like I'm the man, but I am not the man.

When you say "start from sctratch" That's what I meant by I started with the video cut from my ripd dvd I got from TPB... I have a feeling we may be thinking of 2 different things.

Start from scratch. Meaning use the move and cut another piece from it then add the brightness???

Yes, I'm using Photoshop.

All jokes and stupid remarks aside, thanks man.. I really do appreciate your help!!!!!

PS: how can I tell if it's over compressed (you really are dealing with a 1st class rookie here)...

repeat every single step you took when making the dark gif.
the only difference is: this time you add the brightness filter to a new layer
and drag that layer to the top.

or

cut that segment of the video with virtualdub (if avi) or mkvtoolnix (if mkv)
send it to me and i'll make the gif. but i don't think that's really necessary.
this is simple stuff we're talking about, you can do it yourself easily.
