E-begging
As always I'm extremely late to the game here, but today I unsubscribed from TheAmazingAtheist's channel on youtube after watching, among others, these videos:

E-begging is something I've been vaguely familiar with for a long time but never fully understood until recently. Considering these people make thousands of dollars for putting together entertainment and ideological videos, many of which require no effort beyond talking at a camera, I find the very idea of begging for money from casual internet users despicable. How do you all feel about it?

I am seriously NOT a fan. I suppose if people are stupid enough to contribute to these guys, that's on them.

RE: E-begging
If your interested in making some quick money learn "flash gaming" and app design. as for the above. Yes it is disgusting. but if you look at it. It's just kids, spouting SHIT that's controversial with the backing of "Media Savvy Parasites".
It's win-win for the kids (money) and their backers (Fresh followers Smile ).
Use the "report" option on YouTube to voice your distaste. Personally i'm in agreement with your opinion on it's content Smile

I don't think these people are stupid so much as vulnerable. Like those men who buy porn stars on twitter stuff from their Amazon wish lists because their loneliness makes them gullible (something which TheAmazingAtheist once ranted about, ironically). I imagine people capable of being duped into giving celebrities money are often desperate for human connection. I'm ashamed to have ever liked TAA.

I'm building a shelter/orphanage for rats who've lost both parents at birth while they were out foraging for food for their young. A Dollar donation can add a brick to this little known but sorely needed support for all the little RATS out there.
We need 2 million bricksto give these RATS a chance.
If you would like to donate, please PM your bank A/C number, name and sort code so we can set up an immediate Direct debit (Clear out your account) facility.

I agree with Kaiser. Crooks will use whatever means are available to sucker in the weak-minded. Years ago it was Publisher's Clearing House and Finger Hut magazine that tricked the elderly into buying subscriptions to magazines that they would never read in the hopes of 'securing their chances to win.' Disgusting AngryAngryAngryAngry

Wildcard is awesome.

There's big money to be made in social engineering. Usually peoples own greed/insecurities are their downfall.
"Stealing Packets" IMO used to be the "in thing" for ID theft/rape. Although, at times it's very effective, it can be "policed" and risky for the "Author".
"Phishing" and other similar methods are more insidious. It's extremely difficult to "police" against them and accusations of the afore mentioned are extremly hard to prove.
It's an arguement (probably a good thread to start) on the pro's and con's of policing the net.
