googled on 'word that means to talk to oneself'.
Initial replies were psychopath and schizophrenic.
Then there was soliloquize or something
and then a list of similar words, from which the following stood out.

I often talk to myself, but only when I know for certain no one else is around. Mainly it's to remind myself to do stuff, other times I'll start a convo with someone, then come home and rant to my cat about what I think of them - but I'll do that as I'm walking around taking my coat and shoes off etc, it's not like I sit there across the table talking to it, thinking it's able to understand my inane gibberish. Big Grin
